The Monitor^® PJ Pitless Unit is designed for use on 2" and smaller driven wells. The PJ Pitless Unit forms a watertight extension of the well casing (drive pipe) from below the frostline, where it is buried permanently, to above ground. There is a MONITOR PJ Pitless Unit for SHALLOW WELL and SINGLE-PIPE DEEP WELL jet pump applications.

FEATURES

EASY TO INSTALL . . . No construction. A quality pump installation can be made with one dealer call.

FROST PROOF . . . No heating required. All water passages are below the frostline.

FULL WELL OPENING AND SPOOL SUPPORT . . . Reliable O-ring seals allow the inner assembly to be removed, leaving the well free of obstruction. The spool support eliminates vertical adjustment and any possibility of dropping the inner assembly into the well.

CORROSION PROTECTION . . . The spool and discharge body are hot dipped lead-free galvanized inside and out, to prevent corrosion, and together protect all water passages within the unit. The upper case is standard galvanized pipe.

BACK TAPPING . . . When the inner well assembly is removed, a threaded casing the same diameter as the well casing and about the same length as the pitless unit can be screwed into the back tapping to isolate the well from the upper case. This isolation, during such well operations as jetting, sterilizing, and redrilling, protects the spool sealing surfaces from mechanical damage and prevents the entry of mud and/or well chemicals into the upper case and connecting passages and pipes.

SPOOL HOLD DOWN . . . is independent of the well cap and provides a convenient connection for lifting out or inserting the inner well assembly.

FLOWING WELLS . . . Units are available. To order, add "F" as the last number of the ordering number.

The SHALLOW WELL Unit spool is tapped for a suction drop pipe and has a vertical passage which equalizes the upper case and well casing pressures. The discharge body is tapped for the suction and concentric pressure pipes which are respectively connected to the pump suction and pressure ports. There is no passage extending from the pressure pipe to the well casing.

The SINGLE-PIPE DEEP WELL Unit spool is tapped for the suction drop pipe. Because the well casing is under system pressure, there is no pressure equalizing passage in the spool and a spool hold down is provided to prevent upward movement of the inner well assembly. The discharge body is tapped for the suction and concentric pressure pipes, which are respectively connected to the pump suction and pressure ports. A passage in the discharge body conducts water from the pressure pipe to the well casing.
